Sejong Hangeul Olympiad is a prestigious competition that honors the spirit of King Sejong and the significance of Hangeul, with the goal of promoting its global dissemination among foreign university students. Guided by the vision "dreaming of becoming the number one Korean language in the world will make your dreams come true," the Olympiad is part of a larger initiative to nurture 100,000 foreign students as ambassadors of Hangeul. Beginning in 2024, the program will start with the training of 109 Hangeul ambassadors, expanding to 1,090 in 2025 and 11,090 by 2026, with the ultimate aim of cultivating 100,000 Hangeul ambassadors within ten years.

The first Sejong Hangeul Olympiad will feature a variety of programs that showcase knowledge, performance, debate, and social media talent, offering participants a grand platform to exhibit the power and beauty of Hangeul to the world. Notably, the event will recreate traditional Joseon attire, providing participants with an immersive historical experience. Additionally, on Hangeul Day, October 9th, a "Run with Sean" marathon will take place, aimed at actively promoting Hangeul culture alongside the citizens of Sejong City.
